Why this title?

This is for Europeans because I can immagine that everybody in Italy knows who is the actor in the picture of my blog's title. Antonio de Curtis, whose stage name was Totò, was a comic actor, born in Naples. He was nicknamed "Il Principe", since, as he personally suffered poverty, he was very generous, trying always to help and protect poor colleagues. In many movies and comic gags he interprets poor people, but in the movie "Signori si nasce" he was a declining noble pretending to still have a butler at his service without paying him. In the scene where he pronounces the popular words "E Io pago..." "And I pay..." he is reproaching as usual the servant who is asking for money in order to buy foods for his master. The words, very popular in our country, are often pronounced with the same tone of Toto in all the situations in which we have to pay without having anything in return.
